In any instance that you experience call quality issues, phones lose connection, or you are unable to make or receive calls, it is strongly advised to first test your connection before contacting support:


  1. Perform a line quality speedtest - www.speedtest.net
  2. Ping your OCS, as well as voip.othos.co.za
    • On Mac
      • Open Terminal
      • Type ping voip.othos.co.za, and press enter
      • Run this for 2 minutes
      • Press ctrl + C to stop the ping test
      • Note the ping statistics – packet loss % and min/avg/max/stddev values
    • On Windows:
      • Open CMD
      • Type ping voip.othos.co.za, and press enter
      • Run this for 2 minutes
      • Press ctrl + C to stop the ping test
      • Note the ping statistics – packet loss % and min/avg/max/stddev values
  3. Note your upload and download speeds, as well as ping (latency), jitter, and packet loss
