Smartphone makers often disable apps in the background to optimize performance and save battery. While this strategy may improve device efficiency, it can negatively impact user experience by limiting real-time capabilities. Background app restrictions can hinder timely notifications, updates, and functionality, compromising the seamless operation of certain applications. Users may find this trade-off frustrating, as it sacrifices convenience for the sake of performance, making it important for manufacturers to strike a balance that better addresses user needs.


Unfortunately, this trade-off may impact our app, Othos Softphone, as it relies on timely notifications and updates.

General Instructions:


1. Unrestrict the app battery usage for Cloud Softphone

2. Lock the app's activity in your "recent apps tab". Typically there is a button to view recent app activity. Certain phone models can lock the app's activity from there:


3. Enable "Show-persistent notifications" in the Cloud Softphone app under Settings

> Go into the "cloud softphone" app.
>Click on the 3 dots at the top right corner.
> Go into "Settings".
> Go into "Preferences".
> Go into "Controls".
> Make sure "Show persistent notification" is enabled.
